Hey Everyone. I am going to keep this short because I am exhausted.

Eric Roberto Jenson has arrived!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He was born at 1:05am on Tuesday June 16th, 2009 weighing in at 3330 grams (7lbs 5.4 ounces) and with a height of 50cm (19.7 Inches)

It was an amazing experience that still blows me away....it is sooooo awesome to be a dad. Alessandra and I are sooooo happy to have Eric join our family.

Both Alessandra and Eric are doing great.

One of my friends just gave birth to Kevin, a really cute little boy and so my mom and I thought we would make her a diaper cake. Thanks to all my friends that helped giving me ideas on how to make it! This is the final result.....I was pretty excited and my friend loved it!

Hello everyone-

I tried emailing this but unfortunately the file size was way too big to fit in an email so I thought I would put it on our blog so that you can see it.
The baby is doing really really well and during this ultrasound we could see his face so good.
We were not able to make a video of the whole thing because Cory's camera died half way through it but I still think it is fun.

ITS A BOY!!!!

We went to the doctor's today and we can now say with certainty that we are having a baby boy. We are so excited and now we just need to start thinking of boy names....we had been told at the last ultrasound that the baby was most likely a girl. We had an ultrasound Saturday and today and both Doctor's have said that we have a little boy on the way so we feel safe saying that we are having a boy. It seemed pretty obvious from the ultrasounds as well.

Sooooo....... since not much has been going on around here I thought I would post a new little piece of information which is my new pair of glasses......Cory likes saying that he picked them but really it was an effort from both of us.....
Then I thought I would just put Ciocio by me too since she cracks me up....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALESSANDRA!!!

I know that pretty much everyone in the world already celebrated the arrival of Alessandra's birthday (January 1st) as we all have even from before we even knew her. But I thought that you all might like to see a few pictures from her Birthday party since you all celebrated the arrival of her birthday but may not have been able to make it to Italy for her B-day party.

Below is a picture of the cake that her mom made for her:

She is a huge Shrek fan (mainly the cat with the big brown eyes). I think it is because it reminds of her of her dog Ciocio. Below is a picture of Ciocio delivering one of her birthday presents to her:

For her birthday along with some of the other things that she wanted I also got her a few Wiiware games that I downloaded to the Wii--Tetris, Sudoku and Brain Challenge so we played the Wii almost all day yesterday and I must admit she kills me at Tetris.

A couple days ago we also went over to see her cousin Chicco's house so we finally got a picture with her and all her cousins together at one time. Top left Chicco, top right Claudio, bottom left Andrea.

Since it has been a while since I have have uploaded some pictures I will also throw in a few of Alessandra and her dog Ciocio from when we walked to the beach the other day by our house.

We are having a baby in June!!!!

Although some of you may already have heard or suspected the exciting news I think it is time to announce that we are having our first baby in June!!!

This is a very exciting thing for us! We wish we could skip right to June but I guess we will have to be patient. All of you who have kids already please feel free to send your advice.

I know that it has been a long time since we have blogged -- and there have been complaints from several. Given the importance of this announcement I decided it is time to get back into the blogging world and share this great news with all of you. I have been wanting to do it for the past week or so but have unable to get our scanner to work. Finally I decided I couldn't wait any longer and decided that the pictures can wait.

I will leave all our other updates for another blog as this deserves its own announcement.

Trip to Rome

ROMA - ROME

One of the last places we went to while Kjerstin was still here was Rome. It was nice to see it again after not having been there for a few years.

Here are some of the places that we went while there.

Of course one of the next things that I need to post pictures of is the Colosseo or Colosseum, it was one of the last things we saw before dark but I am kind of putting things in random order and not the order that we went to them. The picture directly below is actually huge of the Colosseum if you click on it-

Below you can see the area underneath the arena floor where they would send the animals or people up from on elevators or even change the scenery from below by creating hills or trees etc that would pop up out of the floor-

And here you can see how the floor covered up the underground passages-

Before heading to the Colosseum we went and saw all the ruins nearby and the Prison where Peter and Paul where imprisoned in Rome and tied to the Pillar shown below-

And here is a shot of the prison from the outside. It has now been turned into a type of memorial to Peter and Paul as they are both believed to have been martyred in Rome-

Glass Blowing in Venice

This video is of a demonstration we watched of how they blow vases and animals out of glass on the Island of Murano in Venice. The guy makes a vase first and then makes a small horse out of glass. It is pretty impressive what they do there with glass. If you go to Venice you should go to the Island of Murano to see this!

5 Terre with Mom and Kjerstin

The 5 Terre are about a half hour north of us up the Coast. It is all marine protected waters so the water is crystal clear with lots of fish. 5 Terre means 5 lands and is called that because there are 5 little cities along the cliffs.

It is usually better weather than the day we went but this video should still give you an idea how pretty of a place it is.

We took the train up there one of the days while my mom and Kjerstin were still here.

Well after a really fun trip Kjerstin is on her way back to Utah in her new car.........

We loved having her and mom here for some fun vacation time.

I will try and get pictures of the other places we went to posted in the next week or so.

Alessandra just got the rest of the Twighlight books in the mail so I guess I will be posting on my own for the next couple weeks. We are also giving the first one to her grandma to read in Italian so I will have to let you know how that goes.

Venice

On Monday, Me, Alessandra and Kjerstin went to Venice. We drove there in the morning and then went directly to the Island Murano where they make all the blown glass. Then we headed to Piazza San Marco and then spent the rest of the day just wandering around looking at everything.

After we were done at Murano we took the Waterbus over to Piazza San Marco and had a good time walking around and seeing everything.

Twilight

This is about all I have seen of Alessandra ever since my Mom gave her this book. I wake up in the morning to see a Maglite that I forgot we had and her book sitting by the side of the bed because she is reading it in every spare minute.

I guess all of the rest of you who have read the Vampire books can appreciate this. For those of us who haven't it is amazing to see how much you can enjoy a book about Vampires.

Lucca

On Monday, myself, Alessandra, my Mom and Kjerstin went to Lucca. Lucca is a medieval city about 30 minutes from where we live . The entire city is surrounded by a big wall from medieval times. A random fact from Lucca is that there are 99 Churches there.

This is the famous ancient Roman Amphitheater in Lucca. All the houses from a circle so that they could all watch the shows or plays in the middle.

If you look close at the picture below you can see Alessandra, Kjerstin and my Mom on top of the wall. This kind of gives you a better idea of how tall the wall is-

While we were there we climbed to the top of a XIII Century tower and got a view of the whole city from there at the top of the tower. Where you see the row of trees is where the wall is surrounding the city-

After we got done in Lucca we drove back to near where we live and went up to my Boss's house for a quick snakc and to introduce my Mom and Kjerstin to my Boss, Matteo and his wife, Barbara.
As you can see he has a beautiful view from his house of our Valley so we sat and ate some snacks with him and his wife on their porch and then watched the sunset before heading home-

Siena and San Gemignano

Well we have been keeping busy during my time off here in August. On Saturday, Me, Kjerstin, Mom and Roberto went to visit Siena and San Gemignano. Then we drove back through the rolling hills of Tuscany past Volterra, Pisa, etc on our way back. It was a blast.

Ciocio

This is a few pictures of our dog Ciocio. She is now 14 years old but holding on strong and learning new tricks....so I guess the saying that you can't teach an old dog new tricks doesn't always hold up.

Here she is when we dry her off after giving her a bath. We can just tell her to sit in front of the blow dryer and she will stay there without moving until she is dry-

Boat Ride

Here are a few pictures from our boat ride in the Gulf of the Poets last Thursday. We rented a boat at Fiascherino (about 20 minutes) from where we live and then we went and saw the Castle of Lerici, Porto Venere and then did some snorkeling. It was a blast!

This is a picture of the Castle of Lerici. We road the boat all around the bay and islands that you see in the background-

At Porto Venere we parked the boat and we got out and hiked up to the church of Porto Venere. Here is a picture of me and Kjerstin taken from on top of the Church shown above looking out over the golf of the poets.
